"Fithos~~~ Lusec ~~~ Wecos ~~~ Vinosec ~~~"
Laces of white waves wash the soft beach. What awaits beyond the deep blue sea? What fate lies ahead? A beautiful young girl is embraced by the shower of pedals. Who is this girl? Where is this place? Yet the accelerated pace brings us to the battlefield of Squall and Seifer.
"Excitate vos e somno, liberi fatali somnus est non!"

The intensity of the fight fascinates, the slashes and smashes sparks. Tears and sweats are of secondary, honours and life is the priority.

A slip by Seifer makes Squall the prevailing one. As the fight is about to finish, Seifer uses the forbidden magic. Though Squall, realizing Seifer's evil deeds, defends himself using his gunblade he is still brought down by the awesome power of the magic. This gives Seifer the chance to attack Squall, who is yet to recovered from the blow.

"Fithos--- Lusec-- Wecos- Vinosec"
The two marks left on soldiers' faces signify their interwined fates, and the hazy future.
Thinking back to the fierce battle he has just being through, Squall lies peacefully on the bed in the infirmary. Seifer, scars and blood are seemingly only nightmares. "My forehead hurts!" Can't really blame him. Afterall, it is pretty painful to be scarred like that. "Squall, so we have met again." Again? Confusion and suspense once again dominates. While Squall's instructor Quistis Trepe walks in.

"I know it will be either you or Seifer." The young instructor seems a lot more mature than she should be at her age. Squall does not really look forward for conversation. "It is none of ... " "... your business" Instructor Trepe obviously appears to be more confident and in control of the situation that his student. (Quistis grins)"What are you laughing at?" "No, I just think i am starting to know my student." "I am a lot complex than you thought" "Then tell me about yourself." Quistis's urge has nonetheless made Squall irritated and uncomfortable. "It's none of your ..." "... business".
Back to the classroom, where Quistis blames Seifer for the injuries: "Seifer, please do not hurt your classmate next time during training." After the lesson, Squall is reminded to go to Fire Cavern by Quistis. Knowing Quistis will be meeting him at the Gate, Squall walks out of the classroom. Then, he finds himself being tackled by a new SeeD candidate. "......"
After the incident, Squall rushes to the gate, where Quistis has being waiting for a long time. "You seems to be forgetting something, your GFs!". This reminder will bring Squall to a tutorial of GFs. Then they ready to go to fire cavern. ("Let's hit the road!") Note that you need to junction your own GFs, even in the tutorial, they are junctioned to your character. After get out of Balamb Garden, turn left, and walk straight ahead. You will be able to see a cave. This is the fire cave.
|
Little Tips:
It is recommended to give each of your character at least 1 GF. This way, your character will be able to do more than just attack and limit breaks. Before go into the cave, also, it is recommended to draw 100 units of any magic from the wild enemy. Though time consuming, the reward is great. Junction 1 fire to strength may have a different effect comparing to junction 100 fires to strength. It is also an other good idea to learn Quezacotl's Card ability. As a result, characters can only gain APs while no EXPs.
|
The two gardeners blocking the cavern will ask Squall for the time limit. In the fire cavern, there will be random enemy encounters. At the end of the cavern, Ifrit will appear. Squall and Quistis will need to fight him until he surrenders.

| The battle is quite easy. There are two ways to win the battle. The easier one is to learn boost of Shiva, then keep on summoning Shiva. If the health is critial, draw cure to heal your characters, or use cure magic, or use potion. The other way is much more complicated, but the reward is nonetheless sounding. keep fighting Ifrit without summoning Shiva until the very last blow. That is, only use Shiva once in the battle and Shiva must end the fight. If the fight ends when the clock reads between 0:00 and 0:15, and you only used Shiva once to finish Ifrit off, then on your SeeD report, one of the status will be 10. This consquently raises your SeeD level and raises the amount of money your get. |

Shiva's Diamond Dust is very effective against Ifrit.

After defeating Ifrit, Squall will lead his party back to Balamb Garden, where he is asked to change his uniform and prepare for the field exam. Go to the dormitory and check the bed to change to standard SeeD candidate uniform. Then head to the main hall, where the control panel is. There Squal will be briefed about the field exam. He will meet his team member Zell, and their squad leader - ironically - Seifer.

So true that fate has its own decisions.
Zell constantly interacts with Squall, who refuses to give a response. Seifer calls Zell a "chicken-wuss". Driving the car now to Balamb, the only town accessible currently. Then aboard the attacking vessel and heading to Dollet, the town under seige.

On the battle vessel, Seifer, as the squad leader, will tell Squall to go to the deck and check out the situation. Stepping out of the crowded vessel to the deck, Squall stares at the live battle field - my first practical mission... let's do it!
After the landing, Squall follows Seifer to the battles with the Gabadian soldiers. Those untrained Gabadian soldiers can't even hold the blade straight, how can they be a match to the legendary Squall? Several matches end in a flash. Then, as ordered, Team B stayed at the town square for further notices. Seifer, dissatisfied with such boredom, defiantly disobey the order, and lead the Team to the communication tower, where many Gabadian soldiers are wondering mysteriously. Though monsters guard the way to the towel, they are also no match for the elite group of Balamb Garden. When they are there, Seifer speaks his dream of "becoming a knight". With foolish courage, he rush into the communication towel, disregarding the severe consequences that might entail. A short while later...
A girl named Selphie crashed into the party...

Backing up the Team leader Seifer, they break into the tower, only find Biggs fiddling around the electronics on the second floor. A fight soon begins when Biggs discovers Squall and the party who are not Gabadian soldiers.

Little Tips:
The fight begins with fighting Biggs, then Wedge will join the battle. However, the real battle begins when Elvoret joins and fights the party. So keep the characters' HP level up (or down if you want to use the limit break) when fighting Biggs and Wedge. Elvoret is an average boss, but take care, its storm breath might surprise you.

| The best way to kill Elvoret quickly
is to pump GF's against him every chance you get. Make sure that his
storm breath doesn't kill your GF's while they are being summoned. It
is possible however, to maintain a critical health with the aid of
the cure spell onto Squall, so that he gets to do Renzokuken every
chance he gets, and make sure if he doesn't get the limit break
option press the menu button (D by default) and keep doing so till the triangle
comes up. However, do not forget to draw Siren. If you miss out on
siren now, you won't be able to get it till disc 4! If you find physical and magic attacks ineffective against him, it is due to his high VIT and SPR, not his element immunity. |

Scan is always a good way to fight your enemy.
